The National Oilseed Processors Association announced it recently welcomed new soybean processors including White River Nutrition’s plants in Indiana and Iowa.
Press Release from NOPA, Sept. 26, 2024
The National Oilseed Processors Association (NOPA), the trade association representing the soybean, canola, flaxseed, safflower seed, and sunflower seed crushing industries continues to see tremendous momentum and growth in the association. The organization recently welcomed Shell Rock Soy Processing, Minnesota Soybean Processors, White River Nutrition, and South Dakota Soybean Processors as NOPA’s newest members. Along with these four new additions, two provisional members – Bartlett and Scoular – will become processor members in the coming months as each company ramps up its crush operations.
“NOPA welcomes our new members who are contributing to tremendous growth for the organization and the industry,” said Kailee Tkacz Buller, NOPA President and CEO. “They join an incredibly engaged roster of U.S. oilseed crushing companies during one of the most dynamic times our industry has ever seen in NOPA’s 94 year history. Our member company support and expertise inform and drive our advocacy work for the industry every day. As such, these membership additions bring NOPA one step closer toward our ambitions to represent 100% of the U.S soybean crush capacity.”
Currently, NOPA members crush over 95% of all soybeans processed in the United States, the equivalent to over 2 billion bushels annually.
“Shell Rock Soy Processing is proud to join NOPA and its associated companies in agriculture who work constantly with our supply chain partners to produce food, feed and fuel for U.S. and global consumers,” said Corey Jorgensen, CEO of Shellrock Soy Processing which joined in May 2023. “NOPA has done a wonderful job representing our industry for nearly 100 years. We look forward to working together to address concerns and opportunities relevant to our customers and suppliers.”
“Minnesota Soybean Processors is happy to be a new member of the National Oilseed Processors Association,” said Jeramie Weller, General Manager of Minnesota Soybean Processors which joined in September 2023. “We are a producer-owned soybean processing co-op with both a refinery and a biodiesel facility but are still smaller in scale than many of the other NOPA members. We are excited for the opportunity to work together with other members of our industry to provide our customers with the best quality food, feed and fuel products while working across national and state agencies to advocate for optimal farming and environmental practices.”
“Through our membership, NOPA provides us with the support to ensure we can supply the highest quality soybean meal for better nutritional outcomes for global and domestic markets,” said Walter Cronin, Co-Founder & President of White River Nutrition which joined in March 2024. “As a NOPA member, we have a voice in the industry about U.S. produced soybean meals and oils and the evolving markets for our products.”
