With a commitment to excellence in production and safety for our employees, our team leverages decades of experience in soybean processing and is driven to produce the highest quality vegetable protein meal and oil for better nutritional outcomes.

In October 2023, White River purchased a soybean processing plant in Seymour, Indiana from Benson Hill. In December 2023, the North Platte Area Chamber & Development Corporation announced that it had granted White River exclusive development rights for oilseed processing capacity at its industrial site outside of Hershey, Nebraska. In February 2024, it purchased Benson Hill Ingredients in Creston, Iowa from Benson Hill Inc.
White River’s owners come from agricultural backgrounds and participate in crop production, livestock production, grain warehousing, and grain processing in addition to soybean processing. The company intends to grow its portfolio of assets in soybean and other oilseed processing through acquisition as well as greenfield development.

Walter Cronin
Co-Founder & President
Walter Cronin, Co-Founder and President of White River Nutrition, brings three and a half decades of experience in grain, oilseed, protein meal, and vegetable oil trading, as well as risk management, to his leadership position. Prior to assuming his role at White River, he advised investors on oilseed processing developments. Walter contributes his insight into U.S. and global oilseed processing developments which are available on LinkedIn.
Kimberly McCormick
Chief Financial Officer
With over 30 years of experience in the fields of accounting and finance, Kimberly McCormick is a seasoned professional in the world of financial management. As the Chief Financial Officer, Kimberly’s expertise in financial strategy, risk management, and fiscal responsibility has played a pivotal role in the success of numerous organizations. Her experience includes various industries including agriculture, regulated utilities, energy, technology, and transportation.
Matt Payne
VP Commercial Operations
Matt Payne has been the VP of Commercial Operations at White River since April 2024. With 18 years of experience in the agricultural and energy sectors, Payne has previously served as SVP of Commercial Operations at Green Plains for eight years and as Commercial Manager in the Milling Division at Bunge for seven years. A seventh-generation farmer, Payne holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale and an MBA from Tulane University – New Orleans.
