I started to highlight some of the USDA’s text from their November 2018 Oilseeds: World Markets and Trade to emphasize certain key points for the reader and then decided against it. Every word counts in the author’s opening paragraphs. They succinctly capture the look and feel of the global and U.S. soybean market during the Chinese embargo of U.S. imports. Could it be those same words from 2018 might presage the next phase for today’s domestic and global soybean market given the outcome of last week’s U.S. presidential election?
